Government jobs have always been in high demand. People appear with high expectations of getting one, as it provides the ultimate job security. The biggest demand, however, among government jobs is the railways. The Indian Railway conducts the RRB NTPC Recruitment exams to fill up the different job vacancies in the non-technical sector.
RRB NTPC Recruitment 2020 Notification
Railway Recruitment Board has released the official notification on 28th February 2019, to fill up 35,208 vacancies in the non-technical popular categories of Junior Clerk cum Typist, Goods Guard, Trains Clerk, Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Commercial Apprentice, Station Master, etc., in various zonal railways and production units of Indian Railways. Candidates having a minimum graduation degree from any recognized university can appear for RRB NTPC Recruitment exam for graduate posts while undergraduate posts require only 12th pass certificates.

RRB NTPC 2020 Exam Date
The Indian Railways was supposed to hold the RRB NTPC Recruitment Stage 1 exam between June to September 2019, but unfortunately, it has been postponed until further notice. The official schedule will be published on all the official sites of RRB soon. The tentative date now is March – April 2020 for CBT 1. RRB NTPC Recruitment 2020 Vacancies
Earlier it was advertised that the number of vacancies was 35,277. But the DLW vacancies in the RRB Allahabad Zone has been cancelled thereby reducing the vacancy to 35,208. Below is a table representing the vacancies in the graduate and undergraduate categories:
There are a total of 10,603 vacancies in the RRB NTPC Recruitment of undergraduate posts. Vacancies for the Under Graduate posts with minimum 12th pass and age between 18 to 30 years are given below in a table. However, there are age relaxations for SC, ST, OBC, ex-servicemen, etc.

There are a total of 24,605 vacancies in the graduate posts. Vacancies for the Graduate posts in RRB NTPC Recruitment require a minimum graduation degree from any recognized university and age limit between 18 to 33 years. There are age relaxations for categories like SC, ST, OBC, ex-servicemen, etc.

The privileges that are offered in both the RRB NTPC graduate and undergraduate posts are Dearness Allowance (DA), Transport Allowance (TA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), pension scheme and medical benefits. All these benefits are provided along with the basic salary.
Application Fees for RRB NTPC Recruitment Exam

RRB NTPC Recruitment 2020 Selection Procedure
The selection procedure of RRB NTPC Recruitment consists of 5 stages. They are:
- CBT 1: The first round is a computer-based test consisting of mathematics, general reasoning and aptitude, general awareness and general science. The exam is of 1.5 hours.
- CBT 2: Based on the score obtained and the cut-off marks set, candidates will qualify for the second stage of the computer-based test. The topics from where questions will be asked are general awareness, physics and chemistry, basics of computer applications, environment, and pollution control, and technical abilities. The exam is of 2 hours.
- Typing Test: Upon reaching the cut-off marks in CBT 2, a typing test is conducted to check the typing ability of an individual in a specified time to check the speed and fluency. Candidates need to write 30 WPM in English and 25 WPM in Hindi. The total duration is 10 minutes.
- Document Verification: This step is done to check and verify whether a candidate has provided valid documents during the time of the application.
- Medical Examination: This test is done to check the physical fitness of an individual and whether he or she can endure the workload.
There is negative marking for each incorrect answer in CBT 1 and CBT 2. The minimum eligibility criteria in different stages for General Category is 40%, OBC – 30%, SC – 30% and ST – 25%. However, a 2% relaxation is there for PwD candidates.

Admit Card has not been issued yet. However, you are requested to check the official sites of RRB for any further updates. The important documents that candidates need to carry at the exam venue are ID proof, photo and admit card. Cut-offs depend on the number of candidates and question paper toughness, and it varies from zone to zone.
