SSC CGL Age Limit:

Candidates willing to apply for the SSC CGL Recruitment Examination must have completed their 18 years of years as on August 1, 2018. Additionally, the upper age limit of candidates applying for SSC CGL Recruitment examination must not be more than 32 years as on August 1, 2018. Candidates having any confusion regarding their age can quickly get an accurate figure just by using the online age calculator. While checking the age, the 10th and 12th class certificates will be considered. There are several positions for which candidates can apply in CGL. The age criteria differ accordingly. Check:

Is there any age relaxation?

As per the rules of Staff Selection Commission and Government of India and Government Norms, candidates will be given age relaxation according to their casts and other details as:

SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria- Nationality

  • In order to apply for the SSC CGL Recruitment examination, the candidates need to fulfill the nationality criteria. The nationality criteria include:
  • Candidate must be an Indian Citizen. Additionally, he must be a subject of Nepal/Bhutan.
  • He must be a Tibetan refugee who moved to India, before 1962, to settle down permanently in India.
  • Candidate must be a resident of Indian Origin who has moved to India from countries including Burma, Pakistan, Uganda, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Ethiopia, Zaire and Vietnam intending to settle down permanently in India.

SSC CGL Exam Eligibility Criteria- Educational Qualifications

In order to apply for the positions available, the candidates must have completed their Graduation in any/respective discipline from a recognized university. Other academic qualifications will depend upon the requirement of the position.

I am a Final Year Student, Can I apply?

No, Final Year candidates are not eligible to apply for the Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level Examination.

SSC CGL Eligibility Requirements: Physical Fitness

For Inspector (Central Excise/ Examiner/Preventive officer)

Sex Height Chest Weight
Male 157.5 cm Chest must be 81 cm with a minimum of 5 cm expansion. Note: The Garhwali, Assamese, Gorkhas and the Scheduled Tribes Candidates have been given a relaxation of 5 cm.         –
Female 152 Cm. height can be relaxed by 2.5 cm Weight must be 48 kgs. Note: The Garhwali, Assamese, Gorkhas and the Scheduled Tribes Candidates have been given a weight relaxation of 2 kgs.

Standards for Physical Test

Gender Walking Cycling
Male 1600 meters in 15 minutes 8 km in 30 minutes.
Female 1000 meters in 15 minutes. 3 km in 25 minutes.

Physical Standards for Sub-Inspector in CBI

Male For General Category candidates, The height must not be less than 165 cms.
For hill and tribal candidates there is a relaxation up to 5 cms
At Least 76 cms With expansion. Distant vision: 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye. Near vision 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in.
Female 150 cms.

In order to appear in the SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination, the contenders must complete the eligibility requirements. In case a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, then he will not be allowed to appear in the examination.
